HelpSmith is an innovative help authoring tool which allows you to create CHM Help files, Web Help systems, Word RTF, PDF, and Printed Documents from the same source help project. The stand-alone and very easy-to-use environment includes a powerful MS Word-like Unicode word-processor with dynamic styles and live spell checker, advanced approach to working with graphical and video files, and many other useful features.
Based on the original technologies HelpSmith, provides you with an easy way to create help files from scratch and also enables importing help topics from Microsoft Word (.RTF), .HTML, and plain text files that can be written in different Unicode encodings.
You can use HelpSmith to provide help files for your application in multiple help formats one of which is context-sensitive CHM files, a standard help format in Windows. HelpSmith has support for all the features of HTML Help CHM format, so you can build the hierarchical Table of Contents, keyword index, edit chm viewer's help windows, and so on.
If you are an experienced tech writer, HelpSmith has the Import facility, which lets you import your existing help projects stored in HTML Help Workshop (HHP files) or even directly from CHM files.
The WYSIWYG principle makes working with HelpSmith as easy as working with regular office application. And, in fact, you do not have to learn any technical details to develop professional electronic and printed documentation with the HelpSmith authoring tool. |
