Using the bi-directional threaded synchronization available the user can quickly download and upload the latest information available to and from their MOSS or WSS 3.0 Servers.
The bidirectional synchronization engine will provide detailed synchronization status messages and functionality to resolve conflicts. When synchronizing with any server, it is vital that the minimal amount of traffic is generated; the bidirectional synchronization has been optimized for the hosted SharePoint environment and ensures that minimal data is transferred in order to keep up to date. The engine will ensure that no synchronization occurs on a list or document unless a change has actually occurred on either the offline client or the SharePoint server.
Using the scheduler introduced in the basic edition, you can configure advanced synchronization schedules. Allowing you to specify when you want to run the bidirectional synchronization to run.
