The basic edition is best suited for roaming Information Workers who don't update information on their SharePoint servers; these users only require a read-only version of lists, documents and pictures. Using the threaded synchronization available these users can quickly download the latest information available from their MOSS or WSS3.0 Servers
Features are available to allow the users to drill down into SharePoint lists, document libraries and other site content with ease. When offline or online, documents can be opened for viewing purposes.
The Basic Edition is also ideally suited to those users who want to build large consolidated views from SharePoint information, these consolidated views can exported to excel, PDF, html and other formats. The consolidated views can be created in grid or pivot form and can span information from multiple servers, site collections and sites within the collection(s).
New to the basic edition are the branding features that are available in SP Accelerator 2009. Registered partners or customers can request a branding unlock key which will allow them to update the Basic editions welcome screen, application logo, support URL and company URL. This is ideal for customers who want to include their Offline SharePoint client as part of their overall SharePoint governance strategy. The updated branding can then be packaged and deployed as a single MSI for deployment purposes.
In order to assist our customers and partners with corporate branding, we have pre-packaged a range of professional photos which can be used to brand your Offline client, these are categorised by country and industry giving users a vast range of images for branding their offline SharePoint client.
With support for hosted SharePoint as key design criteria, reading SharePoint information online or offline will be a greatly improved experience using SP Accelerator 2009.
